Since the second installment of the series, Universal, Warner and EMI have formed a joint venture together and generally take turns to release the series. This time around the 'Now' collection team has had a pretty good selection of decent songs to choose from, and they've chosen well!

The 4-CD series follows the same general format of the original Special Editions series, with genre, era, and decade collections, but over four compact discs (there is also an abridged vinyl version of Punk and New Wave and Rock), meaning they contain more tracks than the original special editions, but fewer than the Now 100 Hits, which preceded this series. These compilations are very similar to the anniversary series, however, they contain a lower amount of tracks and retailed much cheaper than the former series. From the years of 1996 to 2009 the series released an annual compilation usually in the late summer months. Starts off as a slow piano ballad with a nice atmosphere, then somebody starts rapping all over everything.

they really could have done without Elton John, Depeche Mode, Texas, Rachel Stevens and Friday Hill (I genuinely don't remember anything about those songs despite owning the compilation) to name just five. Another strand of the Now Yearbook series, in August 2022, is the somewhat experimental release of a limited edition, extended play, 7" vinyl single, containing 2 tracks each from the 1983 and 1984 Yearbooks. These collections of pop hits are quickly becoming collectable items with people looking out for different numbers, particulary the earlier ones. Sometimes considered a spin-off, video releases, including video cassette editions of many early Now!From 2003, and until 2010, there was one special edition released each year, covering a decade (80s, 90s and 00s), or a cross section of big hits celebrating the Now series ( Now Decades, Now Years, Now Dance) - however, from 2011, they became much more frequent, and in 2017, there were fifteen different titles released. Spinoff series began for other countries the following year, starting with South Africa, and many other countries worldwide soon followed, expanding into Asia in 1995, then the United States in 1998. Since the release of Now 102 in Easter 2019, the corresponding Now album from 100 volumes ago has been re-compiled and re-issued on 2-CD sets on the same day. My favourite on Disc 1 was Since U Been Gone, although run incredibly close by Bad Day, We Belong Together and Suddenly I See and Song 4 Lovers and I Said Never Again aren't too far behind either, I'd count all six as some of my all-time favourite songs <3 Love Generation edges out Dr Pressure as my favourite on Disc 2.
